Number (N)ine was founded in 1997 by Japanese Designer Takahiro Miyashita the brand holds heavy influence from the American and music scene (grunge, rock, punk) as many of the pieces embody the style and aesthetic. The Number (N)ine name itself is derived from "Revolution 9," the Beatles song off their seminal self-titled 1968 album.

The collection not only takes references from various rock scene's like punk & alternative rock but also reflected Takahiro Miyashita health. Tittles "Touch Me I'm Sick" referencing to him missing two collections unable to design for two season due to his health.
