ICONIC PRISONER PANTS/JEANS FROM ‘96 COLLECTION IN A RARE COLOURWAY

FOR HIS AUTUMN WINTER 1996 COLLECTION, HELMUT LANG SHOWCASED A SERIES OF COOL, FITTED SILHOUETTES. WHILE KEEPING TRUE TO HIS MINIMALIST AESTHETIC THE DESIGNER DECIDED TO INCORPORATE MILITARY, AND SPORTSWEAR-INSPIRED CUTS AND SILHOUETTES. THE DESIGNER WANTED TO CONVEY A SENSE OF SOPHISTICATION TO HIS CLOTHES WHILE STILL MAKING THEM WEARABLE FOR EVERYDAY OCCASIONS. HIS MINIMALIST TEMPERAMENT CLASHED WELL WITH THE MORE STREET INFLUENCED LOOKS, FINELY TAILORED SHIRTING PAIRED WITH PRISONER STYLED STRIPED JEANS WAS A HIGHLIGHT IN THE COLLECTION.
