Robert James Smith was born on April 21st, 1959 in Blackpool England. He is best known as lead singer, song writer, guitarist, and only current member of the band The Cure, which he cofounder in 1978. He was also the lead guitarist for Siouxsie & The Banshees from 1982-1984. He was iconically known for his distinctive voice, guitarist style, and his fashion sense which greatly influenced the goth subculture scene that began to rise in prominence in the 1980’s. Since then Smith has worked with other bands as well which have become iconic in there own influential way, notably Gorillaz, Blink-182, Crystal Castles & Deftones.
