Beautiful 90’s Glitter Tee of Sid Vicious from The Sex Pistols with the iconic DESTROY LOGO Made Famous by Vivienne Westwood’s 70’s Punk Line SEDITIONARIES.

Simon John Ritchie a.k.a. John Beverly or notoriously Sid Vicious was born May 10th, 1957 in London, England. He is best known as bassist of the punk band The Sex Pistols and is arguably the most popular member of the band. Simon grew up without a farther figure and an addict of a mother and told a counselor he was contemplating suicide and was said to be torturing & killing stray cats by the time he was in early high school. By 16 he was kicked out and squatting with band member john Lydon who he met at school. Lyndon ( Johnny Rotten ) nicknamed Simon ‘ Sid Vicious ‘ after Lydon’s hamster ( Sid ) had bitten him.

There only album reached #1 on the UK album charts in Nov after it’s release in Oct and spent 48 weeks in the top 75 and is saint to be the most influential punk album of all time.
They began hanging out at the SEX Shop ran by punk designer Vivienne Westwood & Malcom Mclaren were the band was formed in 1976. Sid didn’t join until Feb of 77. He was previously seen playing drums with Siouxsie and the Banshees at the first gig. They were then signed to A&M Records in march of 77. It is said that Vicious was the Image and Attitude of the band. By this time had caught hepatitis and was using substances such as speed and heroin and started a toxic relationship Nancy Spungen an American Prostitute & dealer had became a known groupie in the scene.

Sid & the band later went on tour in the states without spungen and soon fell into a coma induced by Methadone, diazepam & alcohol after flying into JFK airport in NYC and was told her die in 6 months if he didn’t quite drinking. He reunited with Nancy and travelled between to European before deciding to come back to the states.

By October 11 of 78 Nancy had been murdered with a knife to her abdomen after throwing a party in there hotel, Vicious said to be spun out off 30 Tuinols claimed he killed her and then said he remembered nothing. Note that both had an infatuation with knives. The knife a jaguar k-11 hunting knife was purchased by Spungen for Vicous. Police claim Sid admitted to the murder saying ‘ I stabbed her, but I never meant to kill her ‘ after having a dispute. He was arrested on second degree murder but would soon be released on bail and was noted to be suicidal.
On Dec 7th he was booked into rikers island for assaulting Patti Smiths Brother Todd Smith with a beer bottle at the Hurrah Night Club on the 5th. It is said Sid was sexually assaulted during his stay at rikers island and was again released on bail on Feb 1st of 79 after completing his detox program.

As soon as Sid was released he returned to a friends apartment in Manhattan and requested drugs were him and his friends took part. It is said his mum was the one who injected Sid which ended her sons life. A friend claimed the death was not a accident as she found a note in side jacket reading "We had a death pact, and I have to keep my half of the bargain. Please bury me next to my baby. Bury me in my leather jacket, jeans and motorcycle boots. Goodbye."

His ashes were scattered over his lovers grave. May they Rest In Peace .
